Austin City Limits Festival 2009

wow...so ACL 2009. I guess now we can say we have done it, we can mark it off our list, but I can't honestly say if I had to do it all over again I would. The weather conditions were so bad. Saturday, it literally rained all day long sometimes soft rain sometimes beat down rain but never ending rain. By Sunday, the park was completely mud. Unless you had boots or keens, you could not wear shoes. By the time we left the park Sunday night, we both had solid mud from our knees down.

Saturday - Leigh trying to stay dry...notice there is still grass

Us right after Airborne Toxic Event - that band has the most awesome violin, tambourine playin chick

Sunday - two minutes after we got there....gross

crazy mud people....

notice...no more grass

Us trying to make the most of the sludge...our faces stayed clean

this is for the birds

ok...I missed September posting all together. But this one is too funny not to write about. So...I went out to my balcony tonight to pick some basil to go in my spaghetti and meatball dinner when look what I found...a little friend taking a nap in my planter.

I shooed him away.....I mean...oops....I shooed her away and look....someday soon there will be baby birds nibbling on my rosemary. Only in the city would you find a pigeon nest in your herb garden.

Vacay!

wow...so it has been over a month since I have made a post. You can tell I am not much of a blogger. Well, this is just to share a few photos from our vacation. We went to Rocky Mountain National park, about an hour and a half NW of Denver. It was one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. We went hiking everyday...the hikes were amazing. Frankie fished some..when he caught his first fish, I think it was the happiest I have ever seen him....look at that smile.

Happy Birthday USA

So...for the weekend of the fourth, mom and dad came to visit us. We had a great visit! We ate so much good food.....it was crazy. Everything from chile rellenos to gourmet salad to raw oysters to steak and catfish sandwiches and last but not least breakfast burritos. Of course, we had some pretty nice beverages too (give me more mango juice!). On July 4th, we sat out on our balcony and had a perfect view of the firework show that took place at fairpark near dowtown. It was awesome!!...check out the photos.

Peter Pan

So my first post is about our new orchid. We bought him at ikea for $12.99 and he had one flower. Over the last two weeks, he has grown and now has four flowers. Check out the photos!
